Stella (left) and Mitzy (right) duke it out on the rough streets of New York

Finally back and settled into being home and enjoying every moment.  I should be outlining plans for the next book (an am, if my editor or agent happen to be reading this, I really am), but it's just been such a lovely summer so far.

In book news, Barnes & Noble chose to feature all three books (TDWP, EWK, and CHW) on their stepladder this week.  If you get a chance, stop by and see the awesome displays they have set up at the entrance of all their stores.  Thanks to B&N for their incredible support.

Otherwise, not too much to report.  Spending way too much time at the new Whole Foods that just opened in Tribeca (been there every day for the last five), playing with the dogs, and alternately shaking my head at the masses lined up 10-deep to buy an iPhone and wishing I were one of them.  Oh yeah, and outlining!  Constantly outlining.  As always, I invite you to write in with any story ideas.  You'll get zero acknowledgement/credit (and I'll vehemently deny taking your idea), but if you don't mind that, send away!  xxx

Poor Mitzi looks terrified! LOL. Good thing she's wearing the bullet-proof vest.

Hope everyone's doing well. Congratulations on the new Whole Foods store. Joy and I are considering lobbying for one in our tiny town.

Cheers!

Hey Lauren, recently I have fell upon your talented work when cruising through the library book shelves looking for a good summer read, and when I asked for assistance the librian handed me "Chasing Harry Winston", which I caught myself not being able to put down, but when it was finished I decided you would be the featured author of my summer reads. Of course, being a recent college grad and embarking on my own lifes endevors I immediately asked the librian to find me another one of your books and had them order me "Everyone worth knowing". You really are a talented writer, with a fantastic imagination. I am looking forward to gobbling up a copy of "Girls night in" soon, but I was wondering if you have any advice on authors you think I might like, or ones that have inspired you.

Also, being a college grad and anticipating your next work of art, I want to give you some suggestions for your next book. Perhaps a group of girls right out of college, wondering how they can get jobs with no experience, a four year degree in their major to only find that without connections you are thrown into a pool of drowning graduates all looking for a chance to make it.

So i would love to hear back from you soon! Good luck with everything.

Cherie

here is a book idea... a sequal to CHW. I was left dying for more, (sorry to all those who havent read the book, stop reading this post... right now.) You cant leave all 3 of them ringless wonders. L- crazy for leaving her - what seems to be awesome boyfriend. E - whats what going to happen with her and that guy at the end. A - will she ever get a marriage with a rich hot guy? Common' now you cant leave it hanging like that. Although it was a good ending, I purchased the audio book through itunes - goodness gracias - that thing is a life saver. and listened to the book while i worked out. Talk about motivation! thankyou, it got my lazy butt going on the treadmill longer then I would listening to kanye wests work out plan.

Great to hear that you're starting your outlining for your next novel. I'm looking forward to it. Currently,I'm still chasing Harry Winston :) ( now on page 99.)But if I may suggest, if you could use bigger size of fonts same with TDWP and EWK. CHW's small font size is quite a challenge to read especially with my poor eyesight. However, the storyline is great and it's worth reading it.

Hi Lauren,
I've recently read the last two books that you wrote, Chasing Harry Winston and Everyone Worth Knowing (in that order, within a week.) I loved...loved...The Devil Wears Prada (which I read years ago, I read that book over and over, it didn't occur to me you might have written more books) and when I discovered you had 2 more I ran straight to the Barnes & Noble. Chasing Harry Winston was awesome! At the end of Everyone Worth Knowing I alomost cried (disbelief that I was at the end.) It was such a great book (the best of the 3) and like the other 2 books I expected to hear a little bit more about the progress of Bette and Sammy's relation. I know this sounds lame...would you consider doing a sequel?

I hope you dont do a sequel for CHW :). The best part about your books is the characters and I would love to see newer ones in the next book. So your next book, does it have to be based in NY? or do you think the story line can move a lil geographically? How about a group of old buddies meeting up in vegas after a long gap?
